Non-Disclosure Agreement

A legal contract that you ask someone to sign before you tell them about your amazing idea so that they won't run off to the next person and spill the beans. Thus you prevent the idea from being stolen and monetized before you have a chance to do so.

In practice, people do not steal unproven ideas. When an idea is not yet proven (by generating profit) then the idea is effectively worthless, as in "unsaleable".
